Paralegal - Litigation The candidate will work alongside attorneys during all phases of the litigation process, from the initiation of a case to the discovery period through trial and post-trial findings and appeals. While maintaining professionalism and excellent client-relations skills, paralegals are expected to manage all aspects of a case including, but not limited to, primary contact for all involved parties, use of case management system, evaluation of medical records, and investigation, and preparation of court and settlement documents. Organize documents and coordinate document production. Draft discovery requests and responses. Draft Motions, Notices and Orders. File electronically all pleadings in Federal and State Court. Maintain client communications. Maintain all deadlines, including scheduling and calendaring for multiple attorneys. Research potential experts for cases. Set up all Medicare/Medicaid/Health Insurance subrogation and negotiate reductions. Set up probate files. Maintain referrals. Process settlements. Abstract medical records. Draft demand letters. All other tasks assigned. High School Diploma or equivalent required. 4 years of experience working as a paralegal in a high volume office required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required. Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office (including Word, Outlook, and Excel) required. Knowledge of Case/Client Management Software such as Clio required.
