Legal Secretary/Assistant The candidate will provide administrative support to the attorney. Effectively communicate with clients, witnesses, clients, trial court administrators, and other law offices. Greet visitors and perform initial screening of clients. Produce correspondence, respond to emails, manage client contact. Produce and file various legal documents in state court. Manage discovery requests and responses. Preserve an updated case record system. Answer phone calls, take notes/messages and redirect calls when appropriate. Maintain and update client information. Facilitate and manage deadlines, provide timely reminders, schedule appointments. Should have experience as legal secretary, preferably in family law. Basic knowledge of legal terminology, court filing system. Working knowledge of WordPerfect, Quattro Pro, Time & Chaos (Calendar, Rolodex). Proficient in English. Good time-management and typing skills. Ability to multitask reception, client management. Must be a NC notary public.
