Family Law Attorney Duties: Create and maintain an excellent client experience from start to finish. Manage family law cases from post intake through trial. Manage a large volume of deliverables, deadlines, and due dates. Meet with clients in person and remotely to update the client on the case or to obtain information needed to move the case forward. Create legal documents such as pleadings, motions, marital settlement agreements, judgments, and orders for a high volume of cases. Think critically and resolve routine and complex problems for clients. Proofread documents for paralegals and other attorneys. Draft discovery requests and responses and review and critically analyze the same from the opposing party. Assist clients with preparing financial affidavits. Create child support worksheets and explain calculations to clients. Communicate with senior partners and paralegals to effectively move through the civil litigation process. Help solve legal problems for clients through analyzing the situation, understanding their needs, and creating a strategic plan of action. Divide marital assets, debts, including real estate, when necessary during divorce proceedings. Maintain client files to ensure they are properly organized and up to date. Move cases to resolution as quickly as possible. Represent clients at mediation, motions hearings, and trials. Manage a large volume of emails. Respond to messages in a timely manner, communicate with the senior attorney and ensure all action items are calendared and completed. Ensure cases are properly prepared for trial. Qualifications: Active membership with the Georgia Bar and good standing. No prior disciplinary action. Honest and trustworthy, loyal. Cares about the client and team members. Committed to excellence and attention to detail in every aspect of client representation. Must have worked on family law issues for 2+ years OCD likes attention to detail. Excellent trial skills, ability to think on feet, strong advanced trial prep skills. Excellent calendaring skills, follow-up, and managing deadlines and due dates. Excellent communication and negotiation skills, especially in highly stressful and emotional situations. Strong typing required, minimum of 50 words per minute. Excellent administrative skills required including legal writing, research, and excellent computer skills. Microsoft Office experience is required, with strong Outlook and Word experience. Ability to successfully represent both plaintiff and defendant sides of a case. Easily trained and open to constant learning. Ability to follow procedures. Flexible. Willing to perform any work needed to ensure the success of the firm including paralegal functions. Able to appropriate delegate to available support staff and supervise the work to ensure quality and timely deliverables. Superior organization skills.
