Attorney The candidate will do case development and fact investigation. Analyze complex legal issues and formulating strategy. Case evaluation and comprehensive client reporting. Write motions, pleadings, written discovery requests and responses. Write administrative charges (EEOC, TWC). Draft discovery that makes the other side sweat. Review discovery responses and document production. Prepare for and attend hearings. Take depositions of parties, key witnesses, corporate representatives and designated experts (but not in the lifeless, mind-numbing way most attorneys take them). Assist in trial preparation and attend trial. Manage cases, meet, deadlines, and shift priorities depending on the needs of the firm. Do what it takes to help clients win. Maintain a detailed record of billable hours. Periodic (but rare) out-of-town travel. Should have a J.D. from an accredited law school. Licensed to practice in Texas. Focused and analytically minded. Detail-oriented, self-driven, and highly motivated. Possesses strong research and writing skills. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Excellent time management and organizational skills. Strong organizational, oral/written communication, critical thinking, and time management abilities. Technology proficient, including Microsoft Office Suite. Must be able to type moderately fast without excessive mistakes. Fluent written and spoken Spanish is a significant plus. Must be deadline-aware and detail-oriented.
