The ideal candidate must possess 3+ years of experience in probate and trust administration and have a Bachelor's degree. This position requires the candidate to demonstrate a high degree of discretion, confidentiality, and integrity in the handling of personal client information. The candidate must be a team player who is able to interact with our clients, colleagues, and co-workers in a personable and professional manner. Job Description: The duties of the position include, but are not limited to, the following: * Assist attorneys in all stages of probate and trust administration (i.e. asset collection, appraisals, estate planning documentation, asset allocation agreements, etc.); * Coordinate and schedule client meetings; * Assist other paralegals with overflow work and provide back-up paralegal support during vacations, leaves of absence, etc.; * Filing documents with appropriate court; * Strong spelling, writing and editing skills, including proof reading; * Draft all routine documents in a probate proceeding; * Record deeds with County Recorder; * Evaluate assets (as of date of death and alternate valuation date); verify bank balances and prepare inventory; * Draft distribution schedule and, as appropriate, coordinate and/or direct the distribution of assets; and * Possess strong multi-tasking and time management skills: be able to prioritize and manage many varied tasks at a time, following through in a timely manner while maintaining a positive attitude. Required knowledge and skills include: * Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat * Ability to use Wealth Counsel * Minimum of three (3) years of experience * Bachelor's degree * Paralegal certificate * Notary Public Pay and Benefits: This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with a one-hour lunch. The pay is $20 - $32 an hour.
