Foreclosure and Real Estate Litigation Paralegal Duties: The candidate will open up new referrals in the Firm's case management system. Draft pleadings, motions, and notices under the guidance and approval of the managing attorney. Perform administrative duties (calendar hearings and deadlines, organize case files, prepare case status reports). Save documents received through the e-portal into the firm's case management system. Organize exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs, and appendices. Aid attorneys with interrogatories and other discovery requests. Assist with real estate transactions (request title commitments, prepare settlement statements, communicate with title vendors, agents, brokers, buyers, and sellers, and prepare title documents necessary for closing. Must be willing to learn. Assist with hearing packages. Prepare proposed orders. Assist in monitoring cases for an attorney. Communicate with clients and provide status updates. Schedule hearings, and coordinate hearings with opposing counsel and Judicial Assistants. Qualifications: The candidate must have 3+ years of experience in mortgage foreclosure litigation and be willing to learn the process of handling evictions, appeals, defensive actions, and real estate closings. Proven working experience as a litigation paralegal; knowledge of motions, discovery, evidence, litigation documentation, court rules, procedures, practices, etc. Highly organized with the ability to juggle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong writing and communication skills along with attention to detail. Extensive computer and database expert. Notary for the State of Florida or be willing to obtain a notary certificate. Should preferably have Bachelor's degree. Should preferably have 3 years of Litigation in Mortgage Foreclosure.
