Family Law Paralegal The candidate will drafts legal documents including pleadings, formal discovery requests, notices, motions, summaries of depositions, memoranda, and correspondence. Managing attorney calendars to ensure that all deadlines are met in a timely manner. Maintaining client files, both electronic and physical. Compiles and organizes trial notebooks, exhibits, files and other materials and documents. Communicating with clients on a regular basis. Maintaining a well-respected reputation amongst clients, opposing counsel, Judges, Court staff, and colleagues. Meet with prospective clients and gather case information necessary to their case Performs several other similar or related duties, which may not be specifically included within this job description, but which are consistent with the general level of the job and the responsibilities described. Must have experience in family law. High School Diploma or GED required; college degree in Paralegal studies a plus; minimum 2 years experience in family law is required. Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures, including the use of standard computer software such as MS-Office, Word, Excel, and Outlook and case management system applications. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to work under pressure and independently to completion.
