Paralegal Workers Compensation Insurance Defense The candidate follows the ethical requirements as set forth by the Rules of Professional Conduct of the state. Reviews and analyzes cases in order to assist in preparation of case for final hearing. Reviews and analyzes matters for the purpose of preparing matter evaluations and status reports to clients. Drafts pleadings, responses, motions and petitions. Locates and confers with expert witnesses and resource people. Arranges for expert witness inspections and obtains approval from counsel of record and specified parties. Conducts research and locates cases, depositions, opinions, reports and information related to the matter. Contacts and interviews parties, witnesses and experts, including the obtaining of written statements from witnesses. Reviews and outlines depositions, indexes and summarizes documents. Utilizes computerized litigation techniques and software. Assists in preparation of the case for final hearing by drafting required documents. Performs assigned legal research tasks using all available resources. Should have 2+ years of paralegal experience in the field of Workers Compensation Law. Must have Associate degree in any field which includes legal assistant course and/or paralegal studies or equivalent certification. Ability to write and speak Spanish is preferred. Knowledge of ATO (formerly Client Profiles) or similar case management system is required.
