Legal Assistant - Paralegal Duties: The candidate will help the Attorneys and assist the clients. Handle office correspondence and administrative tasks such as responding to emails and phone calls, communicating with opposing attorney offices, taking dictation, and letting the team know about upcoming deadlines. Help with creating a variety of litigation documents, including pleadings, motions, subpoenas, affidavits, contracts, and briefs for case preparation, and proofread documents when necessary. Undertake other duties as needed to ensure the firm operates efficiently. Calendar deadlines and due dates, send ticklers regarding deadlines, schedule meetings and appointments, and client contact. Prepare legal documents, legal research, and client contact. Qualifications: The candidate should have 1-2 years of prior experience in a law firm environment as a secretary or administrative assistant. Some knowledge of legal software, case management, and docketing programs. Must be able to type 50+ words per minute. Must have excellent communication skills and organizational skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines with quick turnaround times.
