Legal Assistant/Paralegal The candidate duties include: Interacting with clients, developing case information, tracking cases, preparation of documents and pleading. Managing office on day to day basis; entry of time/expenses and preparation of billing. Maintain calendar. Enter time, expenses into billing software, generate reports, monthly bills. Compile, prepare, and summarize relevant information and materials for use by attorney in discovery and in preparation of complaints, motions, briefs, pretrial memoranda and other legal documents. Maintain/updates case files; Performs simple legal research; Research at registry of deeds; Index, track and control documents and pleadings and discovery (including documents produced and received in discovery); Index, track, and control exhibits and other materials; Prepare exhibit lists, cross-reference. Review documents for accuracy. Client contact to include scheduling of appointments, follow up. Draft correspondence. Draft financial statements. Requires Paralegal Certificate and 2 years of experience in family law, criminal defense and general office knowledge. An equivalent level of legal training may be substituted for the Paralegal Certificate. Should have thorough knowledge of legal research tools; Must be proficient in all Microsoft Office 2010 or newer programs, Adobe Professional, or newer program, to include redacting and redlining expertise, TABS accounting/billing software.
