Legal Assistant / Paralegal The candidate will join immigration and family law firm. Must be bilingual (fluent in English and Spanish), have the ability to work independently, multitask and take initiative. Will provide customer service to clients: giving updates/status of case. Relay any messages from clients to assigned attorney. Coordinate/Schedule/Calendar appointments, hearings, depositions, mediations, phone conferences, trials, and any other requested meetings by clearing dates with necessary individuals and follow up regarding same. Confirm these events at the appropriate time. Order and cancel court reporters, interpreters, etc. required for case related events. Prepare and e-file notices of hearings, depositions, mediations, etc. submitting courtesy copies to the Judge and all interested parties. Draft and send out letters to clients advising of their scheduled depositions, mediations, hearings. Draft and send out notices of cancellation, proposed orders, agreed orders to the judge and follow up to make sure we receive the signed orders. Follow up with new intakes. Excellent verbal and writing skills (in English and Spanish) are essential. 1+ year of experience required.
