Associate Attorney The candidate will be responsible for providing legal services with Judicial Foreclosure proceedings, drafting legal documents, and managing and advising clients on legal transactions. Will review and interpret laws, rulings, statutes, decisions and regulations to determine advisability of defending or prosecuting lawsuit. Prepare and draft legal documents. Gather evidence to formulate defense or initiate legal actions, by such means as interviewing clients and witness to ascertain the facts of a case. Evaluate findings and develop strategies and arguments in preparation for presentation of cases. Prepare and attend legal proceedings such as, Summary Judgement Hearings, cry foreclosure sales, and other court proceedings with the ability to clearly and effectively summarize cases to judges. Review client referrals and the corresponding case for pre-existing or potential issues. Review, analyze, and provide recommendations for any corrections that may be required on legal documents such as Unlawful Detainers. Listens and shares by providing regular, consistent, and meaningful information. Listens carefully to others and ensures message is understood. Ensures important matters are shared with all appropriate parties. Communicates in a clear and concise manner. Using appropriate grammar, punctuation, and tone to enhance understanding and demonstrates professionalism through body language, including eye contact and posture. Tailors communication style to needs of recipient. Research, interpret, and explain case law to employees and clients to advise on issues. Must have Juris Doctor degree. Must be Licensed to practice law in the state of Kansas. Iowa is preferred. Should have 1+ year of general civil court experience or comparable. Must have Intermediate knowledge and familiarity with Microsoft Office Programs. Should have ability to type a minimum of 45 WPM. Excellent written and communication skills required.
