Paralegal/Legal Assistant The candidate will keeps personal injury, wrongful death, and criminal defense cases organized by establishing and updating files; maintaining and monitoring calendar; meeting deadlines; documenting actions; communicating with attorney. Will answers two telephone lines. Will helps develop cases by obtaining and summarizing medical records and bills; insurance records; police reports; photographs, etc. will keeps clients informed by maintaining contact, communicating case progress and what is needed from the client. Will prepares pleadings, discovery to opposing party and responses to discovery with help of attorney. Will occasionally drives to take photographs, obtain supplies, file documents, or pick up a person. Will occasionally vacuums part of the office when needed during the work day. Will keeps track of expenses of firm on cases and does other simple accounting tasks. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, have good communication skills, pay attention to detail, be organized, be dependable, be courteous to clients and others, and respect client confidentiality.
