Legal Assistant/Paralegal Responsibilities: Preparing pleadings and other documents for mailing, service and filing with court; Managing discovery, including drafting discovery requests and calendaring discovery deadlines; organizing, reviewing and analyzing documents for production; and organizing, summarizing and analyzing medical records; Maintaining the firm s calendar on assigned files; Pre-trial preparation, including organizing and indexing exhibits; preparing trial binders; and serving as liaison between the firm and third parties such as witnesses, clients, vendors, experts and courtroom personnel; Supporting lead attorney, associate attorneys, and other paralegals, as required. Qualifications: Paralegal Certificate preferred; Notary Public Commission Certificate preferred. 3+ years experience of relevant civil litigation experience as a paralegal at a law firm; Must demonstrate a strong knowledge of both federal and state court rules and calendaring experience (e-filing experience required); Outstanding reading, writing, analytical, and communication skills; Must be detail-oriented and have strong organizational and interpersonal skills; Must have the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects and to prioritize work effectively while working under the pressure of deadlines; Work independently and also successfully as a team player in a busy but congenial office environment; advanced computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat.
