Paralegal The candidate will work directly with the attorney to process auto accident claims. Interact and communicate with clients, third-party businesses, and courts, both on the phone and in person. Draft correspondence, pleadings, discovery, motions, briefs, legal memorandums, and other documents ranging from simple to complex. Create reports for attorneys based on case specifications and attorney requests. File exhibits, briefs, appeals, and other legal documents with the court. Get affidavits and other formal statements that may be used as evidence in court. Provide behind-the-scenes support in the courtroom at hearings and trials, or in arbitration, mediation, administrative proceedings, and closings. Organize and maintain documents in paper or electronic filing systems. Sort, index, categorize, order, manipulate and organize the information, physical documents, exhibits, and evidence, and technology applications and databases that assist in managing case-related data. Assist attorneys in preparing for trial by organizing document binders, creating exhibit lists, or drafting settlement agreements. The candidate should preferably have a High school or equivalent education. Experience of 5 years in Microsoft Office and Paralegal is required. Must have civil litigation or auto accident experience. This is a plaintiff's personal injury position. Must be able to help prepare demands and complaints about suit when necessary. Must be organized, professional, responsible, and committed to helping the team meet all of the clients needs. Follow instructions and complete the tasks as assigned in a timely manner. Must have a lifestyle and work ethic that supports a working professional. Be able to work as a team with the attorney, fellow paralegals, and other legal support staff. Excellent communication and writing skills required. Should have strong Research and investigative skill, and technology skills. Must be proficient at Internet research and legal research databases such as Westlaw and Lexis/Nexis. Must be familiar with industry software, email, faxing, scanning, photos, marking exhibits, and assisting with tech when needed. Attention to Detail with multi-tasking is required.
