Attorney - Prelitigation Duties: Works under the direction and guidance of a Managing Attorney and is responsible for performing analysis and providing guidance on all legal matters related to personal injury claims. Provide legal representation in order to recover compensation for a person who has been injured during the course of their employment or due to the negligence of another party or entity. Advice, research, and litigation. Provide answers and guidance to clients who are seeking legal help, particularly on personal injury claims. Develop new business for the firm. Improve new case conversion rate. Assist with marketing for new business. Develop initiatives to improve new case conversion rate and customer service. Attend various meeting and events designed to develop new business. Bar Functions. Marketing events. Training. Conferences. CLE s. Unions. Provider functions. Review and analysis of all new potential cases. Ensure prompt action is taken on all potential cases. Ensure all cases wanted are converted to cases retained. Review case facts to determine if case meets criteria. Evaluate case facts to determine case value. Ensure all cases meet predetermined criteria. Review and monitor case facts to determine insurance coverage, case value and medical care. Investigate case facts. Scene investigation. Witness statements. Crash sight circumstances. Develop knowledge of the firm and it s business. Know the firm s history. Know the firm s organized structure. Understand cases wanted. Cross train for all legal areas of the practice. Know the firm s culture. Know the firm s brand. Communicate with all potential clients. Effectively. Sympathetically. Listen. Problem solve. Prepare daily, weekly and monthly reports to provide analysis of case posture and call volume. Develop relationships with referral sources. Attend marketing events. Create lines of communication with attorneys, physicians and other referral sources. Ensure referred out case practices meet all legal standards. Ensure referred out cases are retained. Track referral retention and fee receipts. Receive and direct all after hours new case inquiries Work with team of paraprofessionals by Participating in interviewing. Preparing team for assignments by training an communicating. Appraisal of work and maintaining regular evaluations. Counsel team. Duties may change with experience to include: Management of paraprofessional team. Participation in HR counsel of team members. Qualifications: Degree from a four-year college or university, graduate degree from an accredited law school. 2 years personal injury law experience preferred.
