Title : Litigation Paralegal

Litigation Paralegal The candidate will be able to provide assistance during all phases of the litigation process including client intake interviews, gathering information to build the client's file, some light legal research (depending on experience), all phases of discovery, document filing, and attending any trials. Be self-motivated. Be engaged and interested in what we do. Conduct client intake interviews, light legal research (depending on experience), and initial case assessments. Assist in drafting pleadings, motions, and appellate documents and file them with the court. Perform administrative duties (calendar hearings and deadlines, organize case files, manage logistics, etc.). Maintain pleadings and discovery indexes. Organize exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs, and appendices. Receiving or sending hardcopy items is rare in our office. Work with attorneys to create interrogatories and other discovery requests. Gather relevant information from a variety of sources. Liaise with third parties. Help with witness preparation, exhibit preparation, voir dire (questions used to select jury members), and jury selection - all when the need arises. Provide assistance with case settlements. Proven working experience as a litigation paralegal. Ten years of experience preferred. Paralegal certificates or education are considered in lieu of some work experience/time working in this field. Should have knowledge of motions, discovery, working with evidence, litigation documentation, court rules, and procedures, practices, etc; highly organized with the ability to juggle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment; strong writing and communication skills along with attention to detail; extensive computer and database expertise. Should have High school or equivalent and 5 years of Microsoft Office experience.
