Legal Assistant/Legal Secretary The candidate will provide daily support to attorneys focusing in workers compensation claims and settlements, Social Security disability submissions and appeals, personal injury claims and general civil litigation. Provide administrative support to firm, including answering phones, scanning, copying, filing, faxing, limited reception and other clerical duties as required. Write to medical providers for copies of medical records and bills, and provide opposing parties and/or the Social Security Administration with copies of records. Write to clients concerning upcoming hearings, mediations, and independent medical exams. Contact clients to gather information and to schedule appointments with attorney. Assist attorney and clients with completion and mailing of required forms. Coordinate scheduling of depositions, provider office staff, opposing party s law firm staff, and securing a court reporter. Maintain client files. Adapt to changing priorities and arrange workload in order of importance to meet deadlines. Must be proficient in MS Word (typing requirement is 55+ wpm) and have excellent spelling, grammar and organizational skills.
