Probate Attorney The candidate will help executors and administrators of estates manage the probate process. Collect and manage life insurance proceeds. Get the decedent's property appraised. Find and secure all the decedent's assets. Advice on how to pay the decedent's bills and settle debt. Prepare/file documents as required by a probate court. Manage the estate's checkbook. Determine whether any estate taxes are owed. Be active on Slack for communication with the team, giving them guidance and instructions. Assist other attorneys and staff as needed. The candidate must be a current Nevada or Washington Bar Member in good standing (additional state licenses are a plus). Must have 1-3 years of experience in estate planning, probate law, conservatorships and guardianships, and mental health law; strong negotiation skills; previous experience handling probate cases, as well as a team-first attitude and a willingness to experiment and try new things in a busy and forward-thinking environment; excellent written and verbal communication skills; Bilingual (Spanish or other) is a plus; a basic understanding of tech/ computers-- we are a paperless office that utilizes numerous legal software in day-to-day operations.
