Workers' Compensation Attorney Duties: Help lead a team of paralegals, clerks and associate attorneys, and provide an excellent client experience. Litigating cases before the Board of Industrial Insurance Appeals and Superior Court. Drafting petitions for review, findings of fact, motions, briefs, opinions and other legal documents. Represent the interests of the claimant at hearings, discovery, trials, depositions, oral arguments, mediations, and other proceedings. Answer client questions and guide him or her through the workers' compensation process. Performing legal research. Remaining current with developments in the law. Assist the injured worker with obtaining their workers' compensation benefits, including assisting with appropriate medical care. Negotiate settlements on behalf of the claimant. Candidate must have workers' compensation experience and has litigated before the Board of Industrial Insurance Appeals. Must have experience dealing with the Department of Labor and Industry (L&I). Prior workers compensation experience outside of the state of Washington is valued. Will have several years' experience as an attorney. The desire to grow a practice through traditional marketing activities and client referrals is valued.
