Paralegal (criminal defense) The candidate will be managing attorney calendars to ensure that all timelines are noted in the file and deadlines are met. Communicating with clients via phone, email, and in person on a very regular basis. Drafting and revising legal documents such as plea petitions, implied consents, affidavits, motions, proposed orders, witness list & exhibit lists. Drafting correspondence to clients, opposing parties, attorneys, Judges, and other professionals. Drafting, reviewing, organizing, and responding to written discovery. Maintaining a well-respected reputation with client, opposing attorneys, Courts, Judges, colleagues and other professionals. Reviewing files and consulting with attorneys to discuss the status of the file and upcoming deadlines. Assisting attorneys to prepare for client meetings, mediations, motion hearings, and trials. Maintaining client's Digital file and regularly ensuring file is accurate and organized. Efficiently providing top-notice legal products and superior services to clients. Associate's Degree in legal assistant/paralegal studies OR 2+ years experience as a paralegal or legal assistant is required. Should have 3+ years of Microsoft Office experience. Typing skills of 50+ WPM is required.
