Immigration Paralegal The candidate will be primarily responsible for assisting the Attorney in defensive (deportation/removal) cases. Will be working closely with individuals in ICE custody and at risk of deportation. Duties will include: Complete defensive applications (42-B, 42-A, I-589, I-485, I-212, etc.); Draft EOIR Motions (Bond, Reopen, Continue, Advance, Change of Venue, etc.); Conduct legal research when needed; Draft professional cover letters; Communicate effectively with Deportation Officers, clerks, and others as needed; Update clients on the progress of their case, showing professionalism and empathy; Screen potential clients; Maintain calendar of court appearances and deadlines. Oral and written fluency in both English and Spanish is required. Must have Immigration experience. Should have a Bachelor's Degree in a related field (Social Sciences, Migration Studies, Latin American Studies, International Relations, etc.). Must have experience in immigration law OR a Bachelor's Degree in a related field. Experience with legal software such as MyCase and PrimaFacie is a plus.
