Associate Attorney The candidate will represent clients in the areas of Zoning, Planning, Civil Litigation, Landlord/Tenant; Construction; Real Estate, Estate Planning and Probate Administration and other related matters. Collect information relative to cases for partners. Meet with clients and take responsibility for cases. Draft and prepare legal documents including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, pleadings, motions, petitions, and Probate filings. Maintain the calendar to includes dates and deadlines for filing documents and entering motions and hearings in office software (Timematters). Enter your time in billing software (Timeslips). Keep organized confidential client documents. File documents with the courts on all levels; appear in Family Court, District Court and Superior Court for motions and trials and Probate Court. Prepare for and attend night meetings at zoning and planning boards to assist partners and be the lead attorney for certain matters. Handle real estate closings include sales, purchases and refinances. Network in the community to build client base and referrals and leads for the firm. The candidate must be licensed to practice law in Rhode Island. Have the notary public seal or be able to obtain one. Must have three(3) years of legal experience in the fields of law. Must be resourceful, efficient, proficient with technology, and have excellent communication skills. Have the ability to handle multiple tasks skillfully. Have the ability to work in a team setting with both attorneys and staff and take on job duties as needed. Have knowledge of Word, Excel programs; Softpro, Timematters and Timeslips a plus.
