Paralegal - Family Law The candidate will be coordinating and noting (docketing/scheduling) court motions, hearings, etc., and drafting and filing the necessary pleadings--usually via e-filing. Drafting temporary and final court orders and circulating them for review and signatures. Drafting legal correspondence. Helping attorneys prepare cases for conferences, hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trial. Promulgating discovery requests (including subpoenas) and drafting responses to discovery requests served on us. Communicating with clients regarding all aspects of their case, and responding to their requests and concerns with guidance from the attorney when necessary. Managing work that you assign to our receptionist. Paralegal certificate or equivalent experience. Superlative writing, verbal, and math skills. One year of being a family law paralegal. Extremely well organized and impeccable attention to detail. Proficient in FamilySoft, MS Word and Excel. Typing speed of at least 60 wpm as well as an ability to proof your own work. Excellent ability to communicate with the public, court personnel, other professionals, and potential, prior, and active clients are required.
