Temporary Legal Administrative Assistant (Legal Secretary) The candidate will prepare a variety of legal documents for which knowledge of legal terminology is required. Will type correspondence and documents from handwritten and typed drafts and dictation tapes. Compose a variety of correspondence. Maintain diary for court dates and follow-up. Assist in new client/matter process, ensuring all forms are submitted in a timely manner. Open, organize, maintain and close paper and electronic client files and pleading binders. With attorney supervision, research, prepare and file legal documents with courts and other agencies. Receive and place telephone calls. Schedule appointments and maintain attorneys calendar in Outlook. Enter daily time entry in web-based time entry system (i.e., Rainmaker), per Firm standards. Assist with work flow under the coordination of the LAA Team Leader. Provide back-up to Receptionist. Perform other related duties, as required. 5+ years of experience of responsible relevant administrative support in a law office or equivalent professional services organization is preferred. Should be able to type accurately at 60 wpm. Must be able to understand and follow complex verbal and written instructions. Should be able to effectively manage workflow effectively, balancing interests of assigned timekeepers.
