Paralegal The candidate will regularly engage in follow-up and phone calls with Court personnel, medical staff, and other parties related to obtaining criminal dockets, dispositions, police reports, criminal records, authorizations, releases, and other supporting documentation for use in immigration filings with the various Florida Immigration Courts. Will interact frequently with clients, and with the firm's attorneys related to caseload management. Responsible for drafting legal documents with attorney review, drafting immigration forms, creating and uploading case files and notes into the firm's software management system, organizing attorney calendars, and various other administrative and legal tasks. Work heavily with the firm's attorneys assisting directly with case preparation, compilation, and immigration petitions. Answering telephones and responding to e-mails for the firm's multiple attorneys. Requesting dockets, police reports, and other criminal documentation for bond hearings and other immigration filings. Case preparation, including writing and drafting court documents to be filed with courts after attorney review. Correspondence with clients;Collecting information and documentation from clients, including requesting medical records and responding to client inquiries. Following up with appropriate courts regarding requests for documentation and status updates. Providing legal and administrative support for attorney activities. Prior experience as an immigration paralegal and experience with immigration forms and filings is preferred. Prior experience in a law firm setting is welcome.
