Legal Secretary Duties: Provide legal and administrative support to a group of assigned Attorneys in office. Create, edit, format and finalize a wide variety of documents including correspondence, memoranda and other legal documents. File and serve legal documents electronically or in hard copy with the various courts in accordance with court rules and attorney direction. Communicate with courts, outside counsel, clients and vendors. Establish and maintain calendar and deadline reminder systems. Open new files and ensure proper indexing and filing of original legal documents and maintain the firm s hard copy and electronic files. Make travel arrangements and appointments for attorney(s) and coordinate meetings, depositions, etc. Transcribe dictation. Enter billable time. Process vendor invoices, prepare check requests. Prepare expense reimbursement forms. Perform filing, photocopying, scanning, etc. Qualifications: 3-5 years general litigation experience. Familiarity with State and Federal court procedures and rules a must. Detail-oriented. Ability to read and write in order to proof and perform editing. Highly organized and able to prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under time constraints. Proficiency with Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Windows Applications, Internet search engines and electronic court filing and service applications. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Interpersonal skills necessary in order to communicate and follow instructions effectively. Independent judgment required to plan, prioritize and organize diversified.
