Legal Assistant/Paralegal The candidate will provide administrative support for attorneys practicing primarily in commercial litigation and family law. Handle communications with clients and witnesses, as necessary. Calendar and monitor deadlines appropriately. Prepare legal correspondence, pleadings, discovery responses, subpoenas, notices of hearing, proofs of service and additional documents, as necessary. File documents with various Michigan and federal courts, as necessary. Organize and attend to clients files. The candidate should have at least 1 year of related experience. Attention to detail. Strong people skills. Familiarity with litigation procedure, protocols, and various court systems. Satisfactory knowledge of day-to-day operations of a law firm. Computer literacy (Mac experience helpful). Experience with Mac computers, Microsoft Office and a cloud-based practice management system a plus. Working knowledge of case-management software. Excellent organizational and proofing skills. Ability to juggle multiple activities, adhere to deadlines, and work under pressure.
