Legal Secretary/Assistant Responsibilities: Undertake a variety of administrative and clerical tasks in a bankruptcy law firm. Will work under the supervision of the Attorneys and will provide support in assigned legal cases. Provide secretarial support to one or more attorneys Effectively communicate with clients, colleagues and partners Edit and e-file various legal documents such as notices, motions, petitions, etc. Maintain and update Attorney calendars and client logs as needed. Schedule hearings and client meetings, etc. as required. Facilitate the meeting of deadlines and provide timely reminders. Answer phone calls, take notes/messages and redirect calls as necessary. Serve visitors by greeting, welcoming, directing and announcing them appropriately.
Requirements: High school diploma. Knowledge of WordPerfect, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook and ability to learn legal technology (court-filing computer systems, etc.). Organization, planning, attention to detail, confidentiality, dependability, comprehension and communication skills. Outstanding time-management. Typing skills. Ability to multitask and being comfortable dealing with a diverse pool of people.
