Commercial Real Estate Paralegal Duties: Coordinating due diligence for a variety of commercial and residential real estate transactions. Reviewing and summarizing title commitments and surveys. Working closely with Attorneys, Buyers and Sellers to clear title and obtain title policies. Reviewing and summarizing UCC, judgment, tax and other lien searches. Preparing and filing a variety of documents, including, deeds, mortgages, memoranda of leases, UCC financing statements, etc. Obtaining permits and other documents. Coordinating with various city offices boards, and agencies. Preparing and distributing closing binders. Preparing closing checklists and coordinate the closing process for various transactions commercial and residential real estate transactions. Dealing with large commercial closings, that includes businesses, i.e. Hotels, Gas Stations, Plazas, etc. Ability to draft and review business/real estate contracts. Business formation, including business closings.Corproate documents, i.e. Operating Agreements, Bylaws, etc. Ability to review surveys. Business Purchase/Sale Closings. Qualifications: Must have 4-5 years of commercial/residential real estate and business law experience, preferably in a small law firm setting, an in-house legal department or a title company. Title Agent/Processor is a requirement if not a real estate paralegal. Strong work ethic and ability to self-start. Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments while delivering consistent, quality work product to both attorneys and clients. Strong attention to detail. Ideal candidate will have a 4-year degree from an accredited college or university and a paralegal certificate from an ABA approved paralegal program; however, work experience may be substituted for education. Public finance and/or corporate experience a plus. Highly developed organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines. Familiarity with using computers for organizing and maintaining documents. Strong communication skills and the ability to document, summarize and present information to attorneys; and. Ability to work independently and in a team environment, including ability to train and oversee the work of others.
