The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of commercial transactions experience in a law firm environment, exceptional organizational and time-management skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat. ABA-approved Paralegal Certificate is preferred. This position offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience. Responsibilities of the Commercial Transactions Paralegal: Revise documents as requested Prepare all closing documents including, but not limited to, contracts, HUD Settlement Statements, title policies, releases, mortgages, notes, etc. Review purchase and sale and/or loan commitments Prepare, update, finalize and oversee the execution of loan documents and maintain closing checklists Draft and arrange for filing of UCC finance statements Order and review UCC, litigation and bankruptcy searches (state and federal) Review title commitments, surveys and title encumbrance documents Prepare and/or coordinate with appropriate parties to finalize forms of title commitments, title policies and endorsements Review leases, entity authority and due diligence documentation Prepare escrow instruction letters, including recording procedures Coordinate directly with clients on closing and post-closing matters Qualifications: 5+ years of commercial transactions experience in a law firm environment; Exceptional organizational and time-management skills; able to prioritize with managing attorney as well as independently; Focused and detail-oriented with strong work ethic and ability to multi-task (will be supporting several timekeepers); Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat; Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Professional appearance; punctual; Ability to interact with all levels of staff; team player; and ABA-approved Paralegal Certificate preferred.
