Paralegal - Litigation/Grand Rapids Responsibilities: Provide assistance during the litigation process including legal research, document filing, trial prep and presentation of exhibits. Conduct pre-claim investigation and initial case assessments. Organize exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs and appendices. Draft interrogatories and other discovery requests. Gather relevant information from a variety of sources. Liaise between trial teams and internal/external third parties. Assist with trial preparation and interviewing witnesses. Assist attorneys in all phases of the case including reviewing, drafting and responding to discovery requests, subpoena preparation and follow-up, ability to draft basic pleadings and motions, and gathering and summarizing information from a variety of sources.
Qualifications: Should preferably have 3+ years of law office experience and a Paralegal degree. Knowledge of court rules, procedures and practices, etc. Extensive computer and database expertise with knowledge of Trial Director or Summation a plus. Strong writing and communication skills. Highly organized with ability to manage multiple cases with deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Organized, with attention to detail and commitment to client service, with ability to work independently or with a team. Reliability, attention to detail and confidentiality are essential.
