Paralegal / Senior Paralegal Duties: Work on Family Law matters but many also work on legal matters in other practice groups (Estate & Probate, Criminal Defense, Business Law) depending on the Paralegal's skill and interest in such work. Gravis Law is a national law firm that makes the legal system affordable, accessible, and uncomplicated to everyone. Assisting attorneys with matters involving paternity, guardianship, juvenile delinquency, emancipation, custody, child support, adoption, dissolution, and divorce. Assist in drafting, reviewing, preparing, proofreading, and analyzing legal documents on matters involving Family Law. Managing attorney dockets to ensure that all deadlines are met in a timely manner. Reviewing files and conferring with attorneys to discuss the status of the file as well as upcoming deadlines. Assisting attorneys with preparing for client meetings, depositions, mediations, arbitrations, pre-trial, trial, etc. Drafting client correspondence. Maintaining client files. Communicating with clients on a very regular basis. Conducting legal research and drafting letters, briefs, memorandums, and other legal documents. Efficiently and consistently providing superior service to clients. Drafting and reviewing written discovery including e-discovery. Covering the front desk and phones when necessary to ensure that clients and other office visitors receive prompt and professional service. Maintaining a well-respected reputation amongst clients, opposing counsel, Judges, Court staff, and colleagues. All other duties as assigned. Qualifications: 2 + years of professional experience as a paralegal required. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong analytical and organizational skills. Common sense, great judgment, and a positive and willing attitude. Must be a team player who enjoys working with and supporting the other attorneys and employees in the firm. A desire to be part of a growing legal practice that takes pride in making the legal system uncomplicated, approachable, and accessible to everyone.
