Immigration Associate Attorney Duties: Meeting with clients for consultations, affidavit drafting, and trial preparation. Conducting hearings before the local immigration courts. Representing clients with petitions before the USCIS. Visiting clients in detention centers in the Tri-State area. Qualifications: Be a Maryland or Virginia licensed attorney, or registered to take the Bar exam. Have 1-2 years of experience in family-based visas and removal defense, especially: defensive asylum applications; I-130 and I-485 packages; I-601 and I-601A waivers; SIJS. Be fluent in Spanish and English. Be able to manage own docket with limited supervision, managing cases from initiation to completion. Possess strong legal writing, research, and analytical skills. Be comfortable zealously advocating for clients before immigration judges and officials.
