Labor & Employment Paralegal The candidate will provide support to the Firm's labor and employment group consisting of 15+ attorneys dedicated to management-side labor and employment practice. Responsibilities: Preparation of litigation documents including, but not limited to, answers, motions, deposition notices, settlement documents. Collection and analysis of documents including: transcripts, wage and hour records, employment files, discovery documents, payroll records and employment files. Preparation of appellate documents and records. Creation of excel spreadsheets and conduct damages calculations. Assist with preparations for depositions, mediations and trials. Conduct background checks and additional party specific research. Limited research using Westlaw and/or LexisNexis platforms. Organize and maintain case materials using traditional and electronic document management systems. Coordinate service of process and court filings, both in hard copy and electronically. File documents electronically via CM/ECF and NYSCEF. Document collection and review using e-discovery platforms including Logikull. Draft and edit employee handbooks. Additional tasks requiring attention to detail, focused analysis and document preparation. Should have Bachelor's degree and/or paralegal certificate. Extensive experience with Excel, Outlook, Word, Adobe and document management software is required. Must have knowledge of EEOC, SDHR, state and federal court litigation procedures, court structure and court rules and regulations. Experience with Fair Labor Standards Act, Title VII and related employment law experience preferred. Should have experience with electronic case filing in state and federal court. Excellent problem solving and analytical skills are required.
