Employment Associate Attorney The candidate will manage a caseload from A to Z - MUST know how to handle these cases. Will provide availability, be available to other staff for questions on matters. Consult with prospective clients on the phone and in person. Collect case data and relevant documentation, obtain fee agreements while working on intake. Manage case deadlines and make sure all tasks are timely executed. Develop a strategy for both pre-litigation and post-litigation. Assess validity and value of the case. Consult ongoing clients. Take depositions of witnesses, defendants, employers and supervisors. Propound/Respond to discovery. Legal research. Negotiate settlements. Draft motions, briefs, notices, Right to Sue letters. Represent interests of the client at hearings, trials, depositions, mediations, arbitrations, other hearings.
The candidate should have 3 years of employment litigation experience. Must have outstanding written and verbal communication. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Must have knowledge of labor laws and procedures. Knowledge and ability to settle cases for full value are required. Knowledge of statutory deadlines is required. MS Office, Westlaw Next, Form Builder skills needed.
