Paralegal/Legal Assistant The candidate will scan and upload to Google Drive the following: Incoming hard copy mail, Emails (and attachments). Documents that are dropped off by a client. Hard copy files (the Firm is moving to a cloud-based filing structure). File original signed documents or documents that would be difficult to reproduce in the client s hard copy file. Set up Google folders on Google Drive (this is a drag/drop type task). Answers the phone. Must be able to handle a multi-line phone. Greet incoming guests. Schedule client appointments. Secure client s digital signature using Sign Now. Interview a potential client to determine if the Firm would take on the case. Ability to interact and communicate with a client effectively so the client develops a know, like, trust relationship. Guide the client through conversations about their injuries, symptoms, issues with medical providers and how their daily life is affected due to their case. Maintain Firm s calendar on Google Drive calendar hearing dates and filing deadlines. Prepare depositions summaries demand packages. Draft Discovery responses. Take the initiative to assert all necessary objections prior to the attorney s review. Prepare witness and exhibit lists, draft motions in limine, final instructions. Draft summons, complaints and supporting affidavits; ensure documents are filed with the Court. Prepare Workers Compensation Forms Prepare scheduling order. Help prepare the clients for trial. Preparing outlines such as voir dire, opening and closing statements and witness. Ascertain what exhibits will be utilized and ensure that they are properly prepared. Act as a liaison to the client throughout trial. Gathering and organizing data and information needed for settlement. Draft settlement agreements and releases.
The candidate should be educated Associate. Should have 3 years of experience as a Paralegal. Knowledge of uses G-Suites for document management and production, Pipefy - ordering records, Toggl Timekeeping, CT Judicial Website, West-Law is needed.
