Litigation Paralegal The candidate will be responsible for managing support functions economically and efficiently, establish priorities and maintain good interpersonal relations and communications with lawyers and fellow support staff. Draft routine pleadings, discoveries, and correspondence primarily on own initiative. Calendaring of client matters, deadlines, and attorney obligations. Preparing attorneys for hearings. Service of process coordination. Transcribing dictations. Ordering title searches. Perfecting judgments. Processing production (i.e., bates labeling). E-filing and serving court documents. Photocopy, fax, scan, email (at times encrypted), mailing, and otherwise disseminate or send documents. Fielding client communications. Regular case management conferencing with attorneys. Performing preliminary conflict checks and update the status of the case in case management software. Final incoming mail processing (scanning, saving into the case management system, distribution, and calendaring). Closing matters in case management software. Responsible for management and coordination of Court deadlines and scheduling. 50% of the time will be spent working on legal matters and the other 50% will be focused on admin support of two or more attorneys. The candidate should preferably have a college degree, Paralegal certificate with 3 years of experience in private practice legal litigation support, preferably within an area of commercial litigation, construction law, bankruptcy, community association law, or foreclosure-related practice experience; ability to multitask and prioritize daily work, and meet all deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced, high volume work environment; superb verbal and written communication skills; outstanding communication and interpersonal skills. Must be energetic, forward-thinking, and highly creative; focused, positive, and committed to superior legal support. Must multi-task, know how to draft legal documents and navigate the civil court system, possess superior organizational skills, and be extremely detail-oriented.
