Legal Secretary The candidate will be responsible for providing secretarial support to the Firm Partners, Associates and/or Legal Assistants as needed in the Corporate group of the Client Services Groups. Files correspondence and legal documents in office filing system, opens and closes files, and maintains information on clients. Performs clerical duties such as providing information to callers, taking dictation, composing and typing routine correspondence, and reading and routing incoming mail. Scan and submit invoices and reimbursements for attorneys in Chrome Rivers. Arranges travel, appointments, conference calls, etc. Transcription. Calendaring, docketing, and travel arrangements. Enter time in DTE system, review and edit attorney s time entry; review, edit, scan, track and change pro formas. Edit, proofread and help in creating various correspondence including letters, emails, and legal documents. Performs other duties as assigned.
The candidate should have High School Diploma or Equivalent. Must have 3+ years of secretarial experience in a law firm or legal department. Experience with time entry preferred. Should have excellent written communication skills to edit and proofread correspondence and legal documents. Must have ability to type accurately and efficiently from draft or dictation with a minimum of 60 wpm. Strong skills and knowledge with Microsoft Word and Excel are needed. Must have ability to deal professionally and effectively with both internal and external clients on all levels. Should have ability to analyze routine administrative details of limited complexity such as resolving minor scheduling conflicts, making travel arrangements, redirecting mail, etc. Must be bilingual (English and Spanish required).
