Litigation Paralegal Duties: Complex document procurement, review and management. Analyze medical and billing records in order to verify claimed damages and identify potential offset. Draft medical records chronologies and related legal memoranda. Perform social media and investigative research, including criminal background checks. Communication with clients, adjusters, opposing staff, court personnel. Assist attorney in preparing for trials, court hearings and all aspects of pretrial litigation in both state superior and federal courts. Draft and assemble various pleadings and motions, to be filed in state superior and federal courts. Draft and organize discovery requests and responses. All aspects of subrogation (negations, calculation, payment). Maintain paperless files. Requirements: Degree in Paralegal Studies. 3+ years of recent paralegal experience. Insurance defense experience is a plus. Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail. Well versed in WA state court procedures and rules. Ability to work with minimal supervision to effectively prioritize, manage and meet workload/caseload deadlines. Ability to adapt to various work styles and personalities both internally and externally. A team player who participates and contributes to the success of the firm. Pleasant and professional attitude. Strong and effective written and oral communication. Impeccable attendance, and ability to work overtime when needed. Proficient with technology, including MS Office Applications, Adobe Pro and ProLaw.
