Litigation Paralegal Duties: Responsible for case management of a number of litigation matters and/or projects under the direct supervision of an Attorney. Performs at a high level of expertise and exercises independent judgment and discretion. Follows the ethical requirements as set forth by the Paralegal Rules of Professional Conduct for Montana, Montana Rules of Professional Conduct and the NALA Ethical Cannons. Essential Functions. Demonstrated ability to draft pleadings, discovery and correspondence. Proficient in all phases of document production. Perform fact investigation. Proficiency in using firm equipment. Proficiency on applicable computer programs. Ability to annotate depositions and transcripts. Maintain calendar. Perform factual/legal research using Westlaw, the Internet and other available resources. Perform general case management. Assist in trial preparation. Provide assistance at trial or hearings. Performance of other work-related duties as assigned education. Requirements: High school graduate. Additional training beyond high school preferred. 3+ years of law related experience. Knowledge of policies and procedures. Good understanding of legal procedures. Strong communication skills. Ability to perform legal research and shepardize. Knowledge of rules of civil procedure and local, state and federal court rules. Knowledge of court filing requirements. Ability to write clearly and concisely. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills. Ability to work well during times of pressure. Effective time keeping. Ability to prioritize and work under time constraints. Flexibility in daily work schedule to meet firm s needs during periods of heavy workload. Flexibility to travel. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Strong team player skills. Ability to interpret and follow instructions. Ability to work independently. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with staff and clients. Ability to communicate clearly.
