Legal Secretary The candidate will work closely with secretaries/attorneys to organize and maintain client files; Receiving telephone calls for their attorney or attorneys; Dictation and Transcription - letters, legal documents, pleadings, motions, etc. Open, stamp and sort mail for their attorney or attorneys; Filing of all incoming documents and documents created by firm into inter-file folders; organization of files in file cabinets; Calendaring deadlines; Ability to follow up on deadlines and to make sure deadlines are met; Assisting receptionist/runner, as needed/requested, on rotating basis with other paralegals/secretaries.
The candidate should have prior experience in a law firm, corporate legal department, or professional office setting. Working knowledge of legal documents is a plus. Must have exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, able to prioritize and manage a high volume of filing. Must have good computer skills; knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel). Must be able to follow detailed instructions, comfortable asking questions when needed, flexible, and a quick learner. Must have excellent communication skills, written and verbal. Should have ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
