Legal Secretary/Assistant The candidate will support Associate Attorneys. Handle electronic court filing in Federal and State Courts, organize and prepare documents for depositions, hearings, arbitrations, mediations, and trials, update calendars, manage litigation deadlines, format, proofread, edit, and maintain legal files. Will manage attorney calendars and schedules, assist in completing documents and provide administrative support, as needed. Should preferably have a High school or equivalent education and experience of 3 years in Microsoft Office. Must have 4 years of experience in Legal Assistance and working as a legal secretary. Must have 4-5 years of experience in "one or more" of the following areas: Litigation, Transactional, and Bankruptcy. Must have strong organizational and communication skills, excellent command of the English language (both oral and written), and be able to prioritize work and meet deadlines. Must also be able to Must have knowledge of local Court rules and the ability to find rules, court procedures, and case documents. Knowledge of Abacus Law is a plus. Must be able to complete assignments accurately, pay attention to detail, work effectively with staff members and clients, and work well under pressure. Should be a dedicated professional who is comfortable working as part of a team and seasoned enough to work independently. Must be dependable and willing to maintain an exceptional attendance record.
