Paralegal The candidate will be responsible for assisting attorneys in the Estate and Probate practice group with drafting, reviewing, preparing, proofreading, and analyzing legal documents on matters involving estate planning, wills, trusts, and probate. Other responsibilities of the Paralegal / Senior Paralegal will include, but are not limited to: Managing attorney dockets to ensure that all deadlines are met in a timely manner. Reviewing files and conferring with attorneys to discuss the status of the file as well as upcoming deadlines. Maintaining client files. Assisting attorneys with preparing for client meetings, depositions, mediations, arbitrations, pre-trial, trial, etc. Drafting client correspondence and communicating with clients on a very regular basis. Conducting legal research and drafting letters, briefs, memorandums, and other legal documents. Efficiently providing exemplary legal products and superior service to clients. Drafting and reviewing written discovery including e-discovery. Maintaining a well-respected reputation amongst clients, opposing counsel, Judges, Court staff, and colleagues; and, All other duties as assigned. The candidate should have High School Degree or equivalent. Should have excellent oral and written communication skills. Should have extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite software. Willingness and ability to learn other computer software (including, but not limited to scheduling software). Ability to work with and take direction from multiple individuals. Should have excellent planning, prioritization, and organizational skills. Excellent proofreading skills, including attention to detail. Ability to problem solve and use sound judgment in dealing with highly confidential information. Ability to operate successfully in a fast-paced environment that places a high premium on accuracy, excellence, and execution. Ability to work independently when necessary. Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time while meeting critical deadlines is needed, Common sense, great judgment, and a positive and willing attitude. Must be a team player who enjoys working with and supporting the other attorneys and employees in the firm; and a desire to be part of a growing legal practice that takes pride in making the legal system uncomplicated, approachable, and accessible to everyone. Should preferably have extensive knowledge of and prior professional experience working with Washington state laws regarding trusts, probate, wills, and estate planning. Prior professional experience as a legal assistant or paralegal is needed. Should have College degree; and Paralegal certification.
