Associate Attorney - Family Law The candidate's duties include: Communicate with clients to explain options, strategies, proposed solutions, and potential outcomes so clients can make informed decisions about their case. Prepare family law pleadings, including petitions, responses, judicial council forms, declarations, orders, judgments, parenting plans, support calculations, motions, replies, memoranda, and trial briefs.Prepare for and appear at hearings, settlement conferences and trials. Conduct and respond to discovery as necessary. Conduct and/or defend depositions. Conduct legal research as necessary. Necessary Skillset: Can work independently, but feels comfortable asking questions when necessary, seeking assistance when needed; Comfortable with handling a high volume of cases; Effective writing skills; License/Certification: license to practice law in California (Required).
