Litigation Paralegal The candidate works as a case manager on all cases assigned to him/her. Responsible for all day-to-day tasks to ready the case for trial from intake to settlement, whether pre-suit or through litigation. Works closely with a team of attorneys and legal assistants to resolve each case successfully. Will update and maintain case management and document management databases. Maintain client contact. Collect and review case related materials from client. Request and review/analyze medical records, bills and reports. Draft correspondence and pleadings. Draft discovery responses and compile document production. Review discovery responses and document production of other parties. Prepare/organize exhibits for deposition, mediation, trial. Coordinate scheduling of depositions, client meetings, mediation. Coordinate witness attendance at trial. Summarize depositions. Attend trial with attorneys if needed. ABA-approved paralegal certification focusing on litigation preferred. Should have 5 years experience in plaintiff's personal injury cases and medical malpractice. Excellent written and verbal communication skills - communicates with: co-workers; clients; courts; other attorneys; experts; claims adjusters; lienholders. Strong background in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel needed. Experience with PowerPoint a plus. Experience with Lawbase case management and Worldox document management systems a plus. Strong organizational skills required. Be familiar with state and federal court rules.
