Litigation Paralegal The candidate will review documents for calendaring deadlines, etc.. Communicate with clients; information and document gathering for mediations, depositions, loans and business transactions. Prepare pleadings. Prepare domestic affidavits. Prepare discover requests/answers. Search public records (including Register of Deeds and Departments of State Records ) to obtain information/documents related to pertinent cases. Assist attorney with court procedures, timelines/deadlines primarily related to family law. Preparation of quality initial drafts utilizing forms provided. Calendar and monitor case deadlines. Maintain follow-up with clients. Submit filings to Clerk of Court offices. Enter time and expenses into billing software daily. Request checks for client costs and advances. Make deposits and disbursements from client trust accounts and prepare Accountings for Funds in Trust. Submit billing statements to clients. Take client payments via credit card or check. Assist other office staff as needed with duties such as and acting as backup. Should have 5+ years of legal work experience. Prior experience in the areas of litigation or family law is preferred. Current NC Certified Paralegal Certification is required.
