Family Law Paralegal The candidate will support of solo attorney Family and Criminal Law and Debt Litigation (Collections) practice. Should have High school diploma or GED, or equivalent educational background, Paralegal Certification or Equivalent. Knowledge of the legal system (civil and criminal courts, family law, protection orders, etc.) preferred. Should have excellent organizational skills, verbal and written communication skills. Should have demonstrable skills in the areas of communication, organization, and working independently and as part of a team. Must be able to assist with the preparation of pleadings, correspondence and other documents, maintain client files, maintain several court calendars including scheduling court hearings, communicate directly with judicial assistants, and communicate with clients via E-mail and written correspondence. Should have ability to maintain strict confidentiality of client and agency information. Should have Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office, working knowledge of Internet, e-mail and ability to learn new programs. Will Conduct research to support legal proceedings. Assist with the drafting and reviewing of legal documents. Investigate facts to help in the negotiation of legal disputes. Record and store client information. Should have previous experience as a paralegal or other legal field.
