Attorney The candidate will oversee and manage caseload from inception to closure. Conduct initial consultations of prospective clients to determine the viability of claim/s, collect case information and relevant documents, and effectuate retention. Manage case deadlines, including ensuring timely action in all cases assigned. Work with managing attorney as the case develops and to determine the best litigation strategy. Review and assess matters to ascertain the likelihood of recovery, case value, pre-litigation or litigation strategy, etc. Answer client questions and guide him or her through the legal process. Maintain communication with the client(s) and staff through the course of the claim and litigation. Maintain communication with the client(s) and staff through the course of the claim. This includes meeting with clients (in-person, over the phone and/or in court) to initiate contact, answer questions, and discuss case updates, settlement, and additional claims; etc. Gather evidence, take and run depositions and meet and confers. Propound/Respond to discovery. Perform legal research. Complete legal research and memo writing to support cases. Negotiate settlements on behalf of the claimant. Remain current with developments in the law. Draft demand letters, pleadings, findings of fact, complaints, motions, briefs, opinions, and other legal documents. Represent the interests of the claimant at hearings, trials, depositions, oral arguments, mediations, arbitrations, and other proceedings. Litigate cases in court. Other duties as assigned by Management. Should have a Juris Doctorate degree and current good standing with NC State Bar. Should have 1-3 years of experience working in employment law, personal injury and/or workers' compensation. Must possess strong interpersonal and social skills. Demonstrates and takes initiative and has compassion for those requiring services. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
