General Practice Attorney The candidate will be responsible for advising clients concerning business transactions, claim liabilities, the advisability of prosecuting or defending lawsuits, or other legal rights and obligations. Advising and representing clients in courts, before government agencies, or in private legal matters. Holding meetings with clients in order to discuss details of a case. Conducting research and analysis of legal problems. Analyzing the probable outcomes of cases, using knowledge of legal precedents. Interpreting laws, rulings, and regulations for clients. Filing briefs and other legal writings on behalf of clients. Presenting facts in writing or verbally to clients and arguing on their behalf. Interviewing clients in court and cross-examining the opposition's witnesses in court. Preparing and filing legal documents, such as lawsuits, appeals, wills, contracts, and deeds. Overseeing paralegal and law clerk staff. Performing other duties as assigned. Graduate of an accredited institution by the American Bar Association (ABA) with a Juris Doctor (J.D.); Degree completed with a specialization in corporate law or any related field is required. Should have 3+ years of experience in a legal department and/or litigation experience. Should be licensed to practice law in the state of Georgia.
